Halloween is approaching fast… where has this year gone? It has been a roller-coaster of a journey for most and it would seem that the ride isn’t over yet as we negotiate the ‘new normal’ we appear to be presented with. But just because we have to cover our face and avoid hugging each other doesn’t mean we can’t add a bit of spice to our lives and enjoy the everyday pleasures that life presents us with! That’s why we have come up with five scarily scrumptious Halloween coffee recipes that add a bit of excitement to your coffee this Halloween.
1) I’m here for the Boo’s
We’ll kick off the excitement with this naughty little number, for those who want to embrace the cold with a Caribbean twist 😉
It consists of a combination of cold brewed coffee, cinnamon spice, creamy milk and Caribbean rum to finish it off. A perfect alternative for those whose plans to sip cocktails in the sun whilst relaxing on the beach have been scuppered!
Ingredients:
- 3 ounces of brewed espresso
- 1 ounce of rum
- 1 ounce of maple syrup
- ½ cup of whole milk
- ½ cup of light cream
- Cinnamon sugar for the rim (if you’re feeling fancy!)
Method:
- Wipe the rim of your glass with a couple of drops of maple syrup, and then dip the rim of the glass into the cinnamon sugar mixture - Mix cinnamon and sugar with a 1:4 ratio.
- Put the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.
- Strain and pour the contents over ice into your glass!
2) Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice Latte

4) Trick Or Treat… It’s always a treat Chai Latte
We don’t know anyone that chooses trick when it comes to trick or treating. You see, the trick is to trick those expecting to do a trick instead of giving you a treat, by tricking them into giving you a treat instead of a trick, therefore the trick becomes the treat… That’s the trick…
Anyway… There are no tricks here when it comes to treats, so go on, treat yourself, it’s not tricky!
Ingredients:
- 2 shots of Tangerine Syrup
- Double Espresso
- Steamed Milk
- Whipped cream
- Cinnamon powder
- Chai Powder
Instructions:
- Add the syrup shots to your espresso
- Add the Chai Powder
- Pour in the steamed milk
- Give it a little stir
- Top with whipped cream
- Sprinkle with Cinnamon powder
5) Slow Cooked Hot Chocolate
All the best things in life take time so why should a scrumptious hot chocolate be any different. Although it requires a little more equipment (like a slow cooker) we can assure you that the end result is worth the wait.
